School's Out! was built by an 8-year-old who wanted to help.

Noah Scarlett, co-founder and product lead of School's Out!

Hi, I'm Noah. I'm 8 years old. I live in Miami. I build websites and apps — some for fun, some to help people.

I vibe-coded the first version of School's Out! in Claude in spring of 2026 with my dad's help.

I made School's Out! because my dad runs a business and whenever my school closed he had to stop everything and figure out what to do with me. I watched him scramble a lot. I thought: someone should just fix this for every parent.

So I did.

School's Out! tracks real school calendars. It knows which camps are open, which are full, and which cost what. When a day off is coming, we tell you early — and we already have a plan ready, so you don't have to build one from scratch at 10pm the night before. It covers the Miami-Dade schools we can verify — public, charter, and private — with the exact early-release days, teacher planning days, and holiday breaks, plus the half-day pickup times that catch parents off guard.

Why we built it

School's Out! exists to help busy Miami families plan around every school day off — and find a great camp for it — without the last-minute scramble. That means tracking the real Miami-Dade calendar, with its early-release days, teacher planning days, and holiday breaks, and showing which camps stay open on each one, so a day with no school never has to turn into a day with no plan.

How you can trust it

Every closure and camp listing is reviewed by a human before it goes live. We don't invent dates or fake recommendations, and we never collect information about children. It's free for families, forever. Every date links back to the source we pulled it from — a district PDF or a school's own website — so you can always check our work. And because the app is made with an 8-year-old, protecting kids' privacy was never a feature we added later; it's the rule we started with.

Making an app is like making a super-fun plan, but for everyone.

If this app made your life a little easier today, that's the whole point.
