Meet Noah Scarlett, our 8-year-old founder

Noah Scarlett, co-founder and product lead of School's Out!

Noah Scarlett is an 8-year-old 2nd grader in Miami. Every time school was out, he watched his parents scramble, so he asked, "Dad, why isn't there just an app?"

His dad is a developer. They built the first version together. Noah picks the emojis, names the closures, writes camp blurbs, and runs the product review meetings. He also runs a YouTube channel — Noah Half Amazing — where he shares the things he builds, and his motto is simple: be so good nobody can ignore you. When something in the app feels confusing, Noah is the one who says so, because it is built for kids and parents just like the ones in his own house.

Why we built it

School's Out! exists to help busy Miami families plan around every school day off — and find a great camp for it — without the last-minute scramble. That means tracking the real Miami-Dade calendar, with its early-release days, teacher planning days, and holiday breaks, and showing which camps stay open on each one, so a day with no school never has to turn into a day with no plan.

How you can trust it

Every closure and camp listing is reviewed by a human before it goes live. We don't invent dates or fake recommendations, and we never collect information about children. It's free for families, forever. Every date links back to the source we pulled it from — a district PDF or a school's own website — so you can always check our work. And because the app is made with an 8-year-old, protecting kids' privacy was never a feature we added later; it's the rule we started with.

Noah says:
Making an app is like making a super-fun plan, but for everyone.
